Chicarider.com, invited me, Leticia Bufoni and Ana Paula (photographer) on the Menina Girls Skate Tour and we had a great time in Mexico City. We had some demos at a couple different skate parks and also skated some street spots in the city. Everybody was super stoked to watch us skate. There are so many girl skateboarders there!! They loved Osiris Girls shoes and kept on asking where to buy them! They said they love the team, the website, and the designs. We signed a ton of autographs, we felt like we were real celebrities! Haha. We also went to a lot of tourist atractions and had a lot of great food, including fresh squeezed orange juice that wasn’t pasteurized, which was awesome. Despite it’s reputation for a crime and violence, we had a really great time in Mexico city and can’t wait to go back! Special thanks to Chica Rider, especially Paloma and Paco. We will be doing more great events in Mexico, so stay tuned….!!!

Osiris Girls Artists Series featured artist “AKO” has a solo exhibit coming up in New York..check it out!

This September 2008 Invisible NYC Gallery Is Proud to Host “The World Has Turned And Left Me Here” A solo art exhibit featuring new paintings, drawings and works by San Francisco artist Ako Or Akayo. This exhibition will fill the gallerys complex with a large number of paintings on wood panels ranging in size as well as mixed media works and Ink drawing on paper and also including a hand painted sign installation.The exhibition will be on view from September 11th through October 11th 2008 with a opening reception held on Thursday, September 11th 2008 from 7pm-9pm.

He enjoys making books, stickers, taking photos,sign painting and moving about in the city’s shadows. His work has seen many different forms from the street to the galleries and most recently a pair of signature Osiris Shoes that just came out this year, rare hand crafted books to sign painting to skateboard films his creating just doesn’t end with painting. He has been apart of group shows worldwide and has done solo shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles And New York And his art has appeared in numerous publication worldwide.

Menina Skate Tour, Mexico Aug 23-24, 2008

Team riders Karen Jones and Leticia Bufoni are both headed to Mexico this weekend for the Menina Skate Tour presented by Chica Rider. They will be skating a demo at the Snickers Urbania on Saturday August 23rd as well as at the Fishbone Skatepark on August 24th. In addition to the skate demos, there will be a private meet and greet for 30 lucky girls as well as a photography exhibit, featuring the work of photographer Ana Paula Negrao, whose work has been published in Transworld Skateboarding Business, Surfer Girl (SG), Cooler Mag (U.K.) Automatic (SD), Check It Out, and Industria (Europe), and Brasil Best (LA).

Check out team rider Stef Tor’s, new grip tape job on her wakeskate. SICK! Stef has been rehabbin’ it this summer because she broke her tibia in a rail jam back in February, but don’t worry, she will be back on the water and shredding soon…..keep on truckin STEF! You’re awesome!
