6.12.08 IN WEST PHILADELPHIA
…born and raised, on the playground was where I spent most of my days, chillin’ out maxin’ relaxin’ all cool…
So the final stop of the Journey’s Backyard BBQ was this past weekend in Philly, PA. The East Coast greeted us with some lovely 100+ degree weather, plus the thickest humidity you can imagine on top of that. Despite the sweltering heat, we managed to pack in all THE FUN, including the following activities: volunteering at the Awbury Arboretum, handing out boxes and boxes of Osiris schwag at the King of Prussia Mall, a skate demo featuring team riders Corey Duffel, Shuriken Shannon, Stu Graham, Jimmy Carlin and Annie Sullivan, an FMX air show featuring Osiris riders Ryan Hagy and Derek Garland, a Red Bull skate jam under a freeway, a skate session at the infamous FDR skatepark, a live concert featuring The Roots and Santogold (who is amazing by the way–check her out!), a night of bowling at Philly’s hippest bowling alley called North Bowl, 3 philly cheesesteaks, 1 liberty bell and a partridge in a pear tree. Don’t think we could’ve possibly squeezed all that fun into one weekend? Well you’re right — the partridge thing never happened. But everything else did, check out the pictures below….
