News From Osiris

The Journey’s Backyard BBQ made its 3rd stop in Nashville, Tennessee this past Memorial Day weekend. Osiris was there in full force, spinning 2 prize wheels…we met a ton of cool people and gave away BOXES of rad gear….! If you made it out to the Coolsprings Galleria in Franklin, TN then you already know how the day went down, but if you didn’t, check out the pics below.
One of the highlights of the trip was renting a Toyota PRIUS….a hybrid car, which means it uses both a fuel efficient gas engine and emission free electric motors to make the car run, meaning its better for the environment and saves a ton of gas money! So rad.

If you can’t afford to buy a hybrid car, no worries because there are a million ways to help out the environment. If you live in Tennessee, check out the following organizations: Tennessee Environmental Council and Hands on Nashville. Both of these organizations offer easy ways to get involved and help save the earth. Every little bit counts….

Mimi Knoop, Julie Kindstrand and Allysha Bergado

Osiris Girls team rider Allysha Bergado took 4th at the 4th Annual Vans Pro-tec Pool Party on May 16th. Allysha, age 12, was the youngest skater in the women’s division and came in after Mimi Knoop, Julie Kindstrand and Lyn-Z Adams Hawkins who took the gold, silver and bronze. The second stop of the Journey’s Backyard BBQ was this past weekend in Denver, Colorado. Thanks for everyone who came out, despite the blistering 90+ degree weather it was an awesome day filled with skate, bmx, fmx, bands and goodies. The Osiris and Becky Bones tents were spinning the prize wheel all day long, giving away a ton of t-shirts, belts, hats, wallets, keychains, stickers, dvds and of course SHOES. Be sure to come out to the Journey’s Backyard BBQ tour stop in your town and come say hi and win free stuff!

The day before the Journey’s Backyard BBQ in Texas, we headed down to the Texas Tree Foundation’s Hamilton Urban Tree Farm in Dallas. We volunteered for half a day and potted 120 trees…! These trees will grow at the tree farm until they are big enough to be given a permanent home. Special thanks to Lucia all of her hard work and for giving us the 411 on tree planting.
