After reviewing all the Suitcase Contest winner pics, we’ve decided on a Grand Prize winner: Fallon Barker from Pembroke, Massachusetts. Congrats Fallon! Being from the East Coast, Fallon wins an all expenses paid trip to San Diego, California. Her trip includes a Surf Session with Surf Diva Surf School in La Jolla, a chance to rip with past Osiris Girls team surfer Jenny Quam, and a tour of the Osiris headquarters, located in good ol’ SD. Good news for Fallon and good news for everyone else: the Suitcase Contest isn’t over. If you’ve already entered or are thinking about entering, you too can win next summer! Go Skateboarding Day was a huge success! I cruised over to Crystal Pier in PB to find a mob of yellow at the Sector 9 tent. Amongst the chaos, I found Annie busy handing out playing cards to eager skaters. After all the cards were passed out, the 2 mile skate to the South Mission Jetty began and a sea of yellow streamed down the boardwalk. Annie and I hung back and slowly made our way down the beach. The sun was shining, the beach was poppin and life was good. When we arrived to the jetty, we got tacos and drinks and kicked back while Sector 9 gave away tons of goodies. Completes, decks, stickers, you name it. They even had a good ole fashioned egg toss. Overall, the day was a hit. Props to Sector 9 for putting on their 2nd annual Boardwalk Poker Run. So it’s a whole 365 days until next year’s Go Skateboarding Day, but who needs a holiday when you can go skateboarding everyday?

This Thursday, June 21st is Go Skateboarding Day the official holiday of skateboarding. I will be cruisin’ with team rider Annie Sullivan at Sector 9’s 2nd Annual Boardwalk Poker Run, a 2-mile skate from Crystal Pier in Pacific Beach to South Mission Beach Jetty. Sea No Evil Art Show, Saturday, June 16th, 6.30 pm to 11.00 pm
Derric Swinfard and Monster Media holds an art benefit to raise money and awareness for Captain Paul Watson’s Sea Shepard Conservation Society, a non-profit organization that is passionately dedicated to preserving the health of the world’s ocean and saving endangered mammals that are needlessly and mercilessly hunted and brutally slaughtered for nefarious purposes.
Paul Watson has been involved in seas conservation for several decades and receive numerous awards and international accolades for his life sustaining work, including an endorsement from His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. Captain Watson will be speaking at the event about the many issues facing the cause today.
Osiris is proud to support this important event and art show, which takes place at Monster Media headquarters and features many famous artist, most notable Shepherd Fairy of Obeygiant.com and Osiris guest artists Freddi C and Maxx242.
